چکیده

Abstract This article provides a comprehensive overview of the development behavior-analytic alternative to popular implicit association test (IAT), namely, function acquisition speed (FAST). The IAT appears, prima facia , indirectly assess participants’ learning histories with regard categorization stimuli. However, its origin within cognitive psychology has rendered it replete mentalism, conceptual ambiguity, statistical arbitrariness, and confounding procedural artifacts. most behavioral IAT, widely used relational assessment procedure (IRAP), inherited many these concerning In this article, we present critique both IRAP, argue that approach measures must have stimulus control front center in analysis. We then outline series early research studies provided basis for potentially superior our field. go on how was harnessed stepwise research, guided by strict adherence traditional methods analysis relations, increasingly modify format fit behavior analyst interested assessing relatedness.

How to build nanoblocks using DNA scaffolds

In recent years there have been a number of proposals to utilize the specificity of DNA based interactions for potential applications in nanoscience. One interesting direction is the self-assembly of microand nanoparticle clusters using DNA scaffolds. In this letter we consider a DNA scaffold method to self-assemble clusters of ”colored” particles. Stable clusters of identical microspheres have...

How to build a brain: from function to implementation

To have a fully integrated understanding of neurobiological systems, we must address two fundamental questions: 1. What do brains do (what is their function)? and 2. How do brains do whatever it is that they do (how is that function implemented)? I begin by arguing that these questions are necessarily inter-related. Thus, addressing one without consideration of an answer to the other, as is oft...

How to build an educational bridge.

Working in outreach programmes run by our physics departments, we have learnt that pupils in secondary schools know very little about materials science and nanotechnology. There are various educational resources on these subjects for students and teachers (www.materialsworldmodules.org; www.pls. scienzamateriali.unimib.it) but because the topics are not included in Italian national curricula, t...
